How to Preview a Page in WordPress

To see a page before it is published live on the web, users can preview the page. Previewing a page in WordPress is easy and can be done in two different ways. Here’s how.

Preview a Page from Pages View

To preview a page from the admin pages list, follow these steps:

1. Go to the admin dashboard.
2. Click Pages from the menu bar on the left.
3. From the Pages view, hover the mouse over which page you’d like to preview.
4. Select Preview.

Note: You can only preview a page in desktop view using this option. To preview a page with multiple screen options, use the page draft preview steps below.

Preview a Page from Page Draft

To preview a page from the page draft view, follow these steps:

1. Go to the admin dashboard.
2. Click Pages from the menu bar on the left.
3. From the Pages view, hover the mouse over which page you’d like to preview.
4. Select Edit.
5. In the draft view or Edit Page view, select the Computer Icon in the upper right-hand corner.
6. From the drop-down menu, select which preview option you’d like to use: Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile. You’ll be able to preview from the Edit Page view or in a new tab.
