Why Does My Business Need A Professional Email Address?
Being in business is all about communicating with people, but plenty of small business owners aren’t set up to talk to clients right out of the gate. That’s why when you hire us to form your company, we give you the option to try out our business email service for free for 90 days. Giving out your personal email will guarantee more spam than you’ve ever seen before (and looks less than professional). A professional, branded email address that uses your business name both protects your privacy and builds trust with the public from the moment you start your LLC. Here’s how:
Show customers that they can trust you
Using a standard email address that ends in “@gmail.com,” “@hotmail.com,” etc is fine for your personal email, but doing so for your business emails could signal to customers that your business isn’t very well-established or professional, and could even make them think it’s a scam. When your email’s domain matches your company name, (for example, [email protected]) your business email automatically appears more legitimate and trustworthy. Plus, if you have a business website, a customer can easily find it by searching your domain name. Win win.
Keep your important business emails in one place
Bills. Invoices. Tax forms. Customer service questions. These are all things you need to keep track of as a business owner. When you separate your business email from your personal email, it’s a lot easier to keep your important documents and communications organized.
Protect sensitive data with professional-grade security
Business emails often contain sensitive information (such as trade secrets or identifying client info), which is why professional email services are typically more secure than standard personal email systems. Using professional email with advanced anti-spam, anti-phishing, and anti-malware protections is crucial for ensuring the privacy and security of your business.
How Our Business Email Service Works
Getting email service for your business has never been simpler. With Northwest, you can get your email going at the same time that you start your company or get a registered agent. Here’s how it works:
To get a business email, you can either hire us to act as your registered agent or hire us to form your company.
Here, you can decide whether to try out the entire Business Identity package or try out Business Email separately. Either way, your professional email is free for the first 90 days. After that, it’s $9/month.
After you’ve completed your order, you’ll gain access to your online account. Inside your account, you’ll create a business email address with your preferred domain. We’ll walk you through the process of setting up your new email.
Try out your professional email for 90 days and see how you like it. When the trial ends, it’s only $9 per month to continue. You can cancel anytime with one click inside your account.
Business Email Address FAQs
If you opt for the Business Identity Package, you’ll get a free domain name for one year, plus a 90-day free trial of business email, business phone service, a pre-built business website, and SSL security. Once the 90-day trials end, it’s $9/month per each service to keep. Order the entire Business Identity package and you’ll get a 20% discount.
You can also get a 90-day free trial of Business Email on its own. Our business email service is ad-free and comes with data encryption and up to 10 professional email addresses.
Starting with the obvious difference, your business email address should only be used for business purposes, whereas your personal email address should only be used for things not related to your business. Since personal email accounts usually have weaker security and are easier to hack into, using your personal email for business puts you at risk of a data breach.
The other main difference between business and personal email is that a business email account should end in the company’s unique domain. For example, [email protected]. A personal email address ends with the email provider’s domain, such as “hotmail.com” or “earthlink.net.”
The email domain is the part of the email address starting with the @ symbol. For example, @gmail.com. Many companies register a domain that they use for both their business email and business website, like www.northwestregisteredagent.com and [email protected]. Domain names are leased through domain registrars and need to be renewed every one to ten years, depending on the terms of the initial registration.
A secure email service will use data encryption to prevent your emails from being intercepted and read by hackers. Most email services will indicate in the recipient’s address box at the top of the email whether an email is encrypted. Encrypted emails will be tagged “Standard encryption (SSL)” or something similar. However, just because an email is encrypted doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe. You should take caution whenever you receive an email from an unknown sender.
