How to Change a Page Title in WordPress

A page title is the main heading of a page in a WordPress website that helps readers and search engines know what a page is about. WordPress page titles can be changed in two quick ways. Here’s how.

Change a Page Title from Pages View

You can change a page’s title from page view by following these steps:

1. Go to the admin dashboard.
2. Select Pages from the menu sidebar.
3. From the Pages list, hover the mouse over the page you’d like to change the title for and click Quick Edit.
4. With the Quick Edit panel open, use the Title box to update the page title.
5. Click Update once complete.

Change a Page Title from Page Draft

You can change a page’s title from the draft view by following these steps:

1. Go to the admin dashboard.
2. Select Pages from the menu sidebar.
3. From the Pages list, hover the mouse over the page you’d like to change the title for and click Edit.
4. To change the page’s title, click on the Title (also called an H1) and change to the desired title.
5. Click Save Draft or Update once complete.
