How to Change a WordPress Page Slug
A WordPress page slug refers to a specific page on a website and is the last part of a page’s URL. For example, in the URL www.coverdeals.com/rock-albums, rock-albums is the slug. You can change your WordPress page slug in two ways. Here’s how.
Change a Page Slug from Pages View
You can change a page’s slug from page view by following these steps:
- Go to the admin dashboard.
- Select Pages from the menu sidebar.
- From the Pages list, hover the mouse over the page you’d like to change the title for and click Quick Edit.
- With the Quick Edit panel open, use the slug box to update the slug. Click Update once complete.
Change a Page Slug from Page Draft
You can change a page slug from the draft view by following these steps:
- Go to the admin dashboard.
- Select Pages from the menu sidebar.
- From the Pages list, hover the mouse over the page you’d like to change the title for and click Edit.
- Once in the page draft or edit view, select the URL from the settings page panel on the right. This mkaes the URL permalink pop-up. From here, you’ll be able to change the page slug.
- Click Update to save any changes.
Note: When you change your page slug, you’re changing your page URL.
