Change Your WordPress Default Email Address

WordPress sets a default admin@ email address for a website automatically, but it isn’t a real email address where you’ll receive messages. To get email notifications from WordPress, you need to change it to an email address you check regularly.

To change your default admin@ email address to a real email address, do the following:

1. Sign in to your WordPress dashboard and go to Settings > General.
2. Enter your desired email address in the Administration Email Address field.
3. Scroll down and click Save Changes.
4. Check your inbox for an email from WordPress and follow the email’s instructions to confirm the change.

Changing the default admin@ email address in Settings won’t change it everywhere in WordPress. You’ll also need to change the email address in your Profile by going to Users > Profile and changing the email address in the Email (required) field.
