Change Your WordPress Default Email Address
WordPress sets a default admin@ email address for a website automatically, but it isn’t a real email address where you’ll receive messages. To get email notifications from WordPress, you need to change it to an email address you check regularly.
To change your default admin@ email address to a real email address, do the following:
- Sign in to your WordPress dashboard and go to Settings > General.
- Enter your desired email address in the Administration Email Address field.
- Scroll down and click Save Changes.
- Check your inbox for an email from WordPress and follow the email’s instructions to confirm the change.
Changing the default admin@ email address in Settings won’t change it everywhere in WordPress. You’ll also need to change the email address in your Profile by going to Users > Profile and changing the email address in the Email (required) field.
