How to Add an Image Block in WordPress

A block in WordPress a section of your website, like a header, paragraph text, video, or image. Blocks let you edit individual sections on a webpage without affecting the rest of the page. An image block is essentially just an image on your website. Let’s go over how to add an image block to your WordPress site.

1. Go to the admin dashboard.
2. Click Pages.
3. Choose the page you want to add the image to.
4. Click on that page to open it up in Block Editor.
5. Click below the last block. If this is a new page, click anywhere near the top. When a small black + sign appears, you know you can add a block there. Click the black + sign.
6. Click Image in the “Add block” pop-up window. You may need to search for it.
7. Upload a new image, choose an image from your gallery, or insert an image’s URL.
8. Once you have your image, click Select.

The image is now a block. You can move the block or turn it into a pattern.
