Adding Hyperlinks in WordPress
There are a few different ways to add hyperlinks to other pages in your WordPress site, but here is the simplest way.
- Copy the URL of the page you want to link to.
- In one of your WordPress pages, highlight text you wish to turn into a clickable hyperlink. Highlighting the text will pop up a small rectangular interface containing a series of icons above the text.
- Select the Link icon. It looks like chain link and is located between an italic I and a downward-pointing arrow. Or, you can press CTRL+K on your keyboard instead.
- A text field will appear, you can paste your desired URL there. Press the Enter key or click the text that reads Link to add the hyperlink.
You may also simply paste a URL into highlighted text to create a hyperlink. WordPress will recognize that the information being pasted is a URL, and automatically create a hyperlink. It will also automatically open the popup preview interface.
