Filing Your District of Columbia Biennial Report
The District of Columbia Biennial Report can be submitted online, by mail, or in person. Here is a complete guide for how to file using both methods.
The following list is all the information you’ll need to include on your District of Columbia Biennial Report:
- Business name.
- State or country the business was initially formed in.
- Principal address.
- Registered agent name and District of Columbia address. If you need to make changes/updates to this information, you may do so on your biennial report.
- Business purpose statement.
- Member/manager OR officer/director information. Include full names and addresses.
- Signature and title of authorized person filing the report.
To file online:
- Go to the District of Columbia CorpOnline Web Portal.
- Enter your username and password to log in. If you don’t already have an account, you can create one by clicking “Register for a CorpOnline Account.”
To file by mail or in-person:
- Print out and complete the Two-Year Report for Domestic & Foreign Filing Entity (Form BRA-25).

Online submissions must be paid using a credit card. Mail or in-person filings must include a check or money order made payable to “DC Treasurer.”

Your first District of Columbia biennial report will be due April 1st – the year after forming or registering your business. So, if you formed your business on March 16, 2020, then your first biennial report will be due April 1, 2021.
Does the District of Columbia charge late fees for failing to file a biennial report?
They sure do! Corporations, LLCs, LPs, and LLPs will pay an additional $100 and nonprofits will pay a $50 penalty.
How long does it take to process a District of Columbia Biennial Report?
If you file online or in person, your District of Columbia Biennial Report will be processed the same day. If you file by mail, it will take 1-3 weeks for turnaround.
