Will I need a certificate of existence?
You will need to include a duly authenticated Certificate of Existence from the state where your foreign non-profit was formed. This certificate of Existence cannot be more than six months old.
Is there a filing fee?
Yes, it is $125 to register as an NC nonprofit corporation. There is a $2 processing fee for online filings. The state’s 24-hour expedite fee is an additional $100.
What do I need to include with the Application for a Certificate of Authority?
You will need to include the filing fee as well as the form and one copy of the form. Also attach the Certificate of Existence, and if you’re required to use a fictitious name make sure to include a certified copy of the resolution adopting the fictitious name.
Do I need a registered agent in North Carolina for my foreign non-profit?
