Changing Your Business Address in New Hampshire

Changing Your New Hampshire Business Address

Q: I would like to change/update the business address [in New Hampshire]. How do I go about doing this?

Thank you to a customer from New Hampshire for the great question! Fortunately, the process of changing your business address in New Hampshire is pretty simple. While some states require you to file an amendment with the secretary of state (or equivalent office), New Hampshire prefers business address updates to be made when filing your annual report. Here’s how it works:

Can I update my New Hampshire business address?

Of course. To update your business address with the New Hampshire Corporations Division, you should include your business’s new address when filing your New Hampshire Annual Report.

Can I change my business address by filing an Amendment in New Hampshire?

No. While you typically have to file articles of amendment when changing any information included in your LLC Certificate of Formation or Articles of Incorporation, New Hampshire prefers receiving address updates separately. (Which ultimately saves you $35!)

What if my business address changes after I file my New Hampshire Annual Report?

Fortunately, New Hampshire doesn’t require you to re-submit your annual report if your business address changes right after submission. Instead, you must contact the Secretary of State’s office directly to update your address.

How should I submit my change-of-address information in New Hampshire?

You can send your new business address to the New Hampshire Secretary of State either by mail or in person (using company letterhead), or via email.

By Mail:

Corporation Division
NH Dept. of State
107 N Main St, Rm 204
Concord, NH 03301-4989

In Person:

State House Annex
3rd Floor, Rm 317
25 Capitol St, Concord, NH

Email: [email protected]

What does it cost to update my business address in New Hampshire?

Technically, nothing. Whether you include your address change in your annual report or email your updated address to the Secretary of State’s office, the process of changing your address is free. You will, however, have to pay to file your annual report ($100).
