Apostille Certificate From The Alaska Secretary Of State
How to Order an Apostille Certificate From the Alaska Secretary of State
An original or certified copy is required. A certified copy of your articles and an Apostille can be requested at the same time. It can be ordered by fax, mail, or in person but we recommend faxing only if requesting the certified copy at the same time. Normal processing takes up to 3 weeks, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $25. Expedited processing is not available. However, if you specifically state a deadline on your request and provide pre-addressed prepaid mailing instructions, they will do their best to process your request as quickly as possible. Always provide the name of the country needing an Apostille.
Note: The Office of the Lieutenant Governor actually prepares all Alaska Apostille Certificates, since Alaska does not have a Secretary of State. If you do not need a certified copy, you can order an Apostille (notary authentication) directly from the Lieutenant Governor’s Office for $5. For additional information about this option you can go to their website.
