Q: I need to change the address of my primary place of business, as I have moved. Any help is appreciated!

Thank you to a customer from Tennessee for that great question! If you want to change the principal address for your LLC, you’ll need to file Articles of Amendment with the Tennessee Division of Business Services. Here’s what you need to know.

What is a Tennessee LLC principal address?

Your principal address is your business’s official address, which you must include on the Tennessee Articles of Organization. This address be a physical street address (not a P.O. box) and will go on the public record. You’ll also need to include a mailing address on your Articles of Organization, which can be the same as or different from your principal address.

If you’re concerned about making your address public, consider hiring a professional registered agent service that will let you use their business address as your principal address.
